What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathic manual therapy is a type of manual treatment that focuses on finding health, rather than disease. It emphasizes the interrelationship between structure and function and the belief in the body’s ability to self heal and self regulate. I look at the mechanics and physiology of the body to better understand the health of each individual. Osteopathic manual treatment works to restore proper body mechanics, nerve impulses and the movement of body fluids by using a variety of gentle manipulations in order to help the body realign itself to it’s natural state.

How can Osteopathic Manual Treatment help you?

Treatment will encourage circulation throughout the body, better ensuring proper nutrients are entering the body and unwanted wastes are leaving the body. Benefits can include but are not limited to improved range of motion and stability of joints and ligaments(decreasing potential for injury and/or pain) decreased muscle tissue restrictions/tension, improved posture, decreased chronic/acute pain (including headaches/migraines), improved breathing mechanics, improved digestion, improved menstrual cycles, and balancing of the nervous system.
